Scarlett Simmons
Head Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Scarlett’s sixth season on the SVGC Coaching Staff.
Coach Scarlett started swimming when she was 5 years old and this will be her 15th year as a part of SVGC. In addition to SVGC, Scarlett has swum for NCAC, ACCH, and the Carrboro High School team. Scarlett’s favorite events are the 100 breaststroke and 100 IM. While she was at Carrboro High School, Scarlett also played field hockey and lacrosse.
Scarlett loves spending time outside, hanging out with family and friends, trying new restaurants, watching sports. Scarlett is a rising junior at Duke University in the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences and is majoring in Sociology. She will spend the Fall of 2025 studying abroad at the University of Edinburgh.
Summer swim league is one of Scarlett’s most memorable and favorite parts of each summer, and could not be more excited for this season!
Coach Andy
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 is Andy’s second season on the SVGC staff. He’s been in the pool ever since he was 6 and started swimming year-round at 8. This fall will be his second year swimming in the NCAA. He cannot wait to get back on the pool deck for the stingrays! Outside of the pool he loves to golf!
Coach Noah
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Noah’s second season on the SVGC coaching staff and 11th season on the team as a swimmer. Noah is a rising freshman at the University of Richmond. He loves to play basketball, football, and pickleball with his friends and spending time with his sisters, parents, and dog. Noah’s favorite part about the swim team is participating in the relays.
Coach Hannah

Summer 2025 will be Hannah’s second season on the SVGC coaching staff. She is a rising 11th grader at Carrboro High School, where she is on the swim team. Hannah was a stingray when she was younger and swam competitively. She loves to play soccer and hangout with friends and family. Hannah is excited to be coaching this year!
Coach Duke
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Duke’s third season on the SVGC coaching staff. Duke has been on the Stingrays swim team since he was 5. He enjoys watching sports and spending time with his friends. Duke also loves to listen to music in his free time. He is a rising 11th grader and going to Carrboro. His favorite strokes are butterfly and freestyle.
Coach Adam
Volunteer Coach
Summer 2025 will be Adam’s third season on the SVGC coaching staff. He started swimming when he was 5, and joined SVGC’s summer swim team the year he moved to NC. He has been a Stingray for eight years. His favorite stroke is butterfly. He is going into the 11th grade at Carrboro High School. When Adam is not in the pool, he is playing lots of sports like lacrosse and basketball. Adam also loves to fish and play golf with his friends in his free time. Adam is excited for a great season of swimming!
Coach Brady

Summer 2025 will be Brady’s second season on the SVGC coaching staff. Brady started his SVGC days in 2017. When Brady is not swimming, he likes playing sports like soccer, football, and lacrosse. He also loves music. Brady is looking forward to coaching this summer!
Coach Aaron
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Aaron’s first year on the SVGC Coaching Staff. Aaron has been on SVGC since he was 7 years old. He is a rising 10th grader at Carrboro High School, where he swims for the Jaguars. He also swims club on NCAC and his favorite strokes are Freestyle and Butterfly. Outside of the pool Aaron enjoys cheering on his favorite sports teams, watching TV shows, and hanging out with friends.
Coach Frannie
Assistant Head Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Frannie’s fourth season on the SVGC coaching staff and 14th season as a swimmer on SVGC. She swam on the Carrboro High School Swim Team all four years and competitively swam for ACCH in previous years. Her favorite events are 50 free and 100 backstroke. Frannie also coached and played field hockey.
Frannie is a rising sophomore at Syracuse University and is majoring in Cultural Foundations of Education and Policy Studies. She is so excited to be back in Chapel Hill for the summer to coach her favorite team!
Coach Anna
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Anna’s fifth season on the SVGC coaching staff. She is a rising senior at Carrboro and loves swimming in high school. She started swimming on SVGC when she was 5 years old and also swam year around for several years. Anna’s favorite stroke is backstroke, but enjoys all of the strokes too. Outside of swimming, she enjoys field hockey, lacrosse and hanging out with friends. She loves coaching and is so excited to coach in years to come!
Coach Jackson
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Jackson’s fourth season on the SVGC coaching staff. He has been with SVGC since he was 5 and swam competitively for a few years. He is a rising sophomore at Auburn University majoring in Finance. He also enjoys playing sports and hanging out with friends. His favorite event is the 50 freestyle and any kind of relay. He can’t wait for the season to start!
Coach Lya
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Lya’s third season on the SVGC coaching staff. She is a rising sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill and enjoys running, yoga and spending time outside with her friends and family. Lya grew up participating in summer swim with the Stingrays and is so happy to now be able to coach in the summers. She is so excited for this upcoming season!
Coach Peyton
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Coach Peyton’s fourth season on the SVGC coaching staff. Coach Peyton is a rising freshman at UNC. Outside of school she loves hanging out with friends and playing sports! She has been swimming with the SVGC swim team since she was 4 years old and has always loved the team dynamic. She’s so excited to be coaching again this year and can’t wait to start!
Coach Caroline

Summer 2025 will be Coach Caroline’s fourth season coaching SVGC. Caroline has been a SVGC stingray since she was 5 years old. She is going into 11th grade at Carrboro high school. Caroline also loves to play field hockey, swim, and lacrosse at Carrboro too. Her favorite strokes are breaststroke and backstroke.
Coach Ellie

Summer 2025 will be Coach Ellie’s fourth season on the SVGC coaching staff, including her volunteer year. She is a rising senior at Carrboro High School. Ellie has been swimming since she was 6 years old, and is so excited to pass her experience down to more swimmers! Ellie’s favorite stroke is butterfly– favorite event 50 fly! Outside of the pool, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and puppies.
Coach Grey
Assistant Coach
Summer 2025 will be Grey’s second season on the SVGC coaching staff. Grey first swam for SVGC when he was 5 years old, and has swum year-round since he was 9. He is a rising senior at Carrboro High School, where he is also on the school swim team. Grey’s favorite strokes are backstroke and freestyle. Outside of the pool, Grey likes to hang out with his friends, get food, and spend time outside.
Coach Zach

Summer 2025 will be Coach Zach’s first year on the SVGC Coaching Staff.
The SVGC swim team is part of the Chapel Hill Summer Swim League, and welcomes swimmers ages 5–18. Our goal is to help each swimmer improve their skills by emphasizing fun, team spirit, healthy competition, and good sportsmanship. The friendships formed among team members make being part of the team truly special.
In order to participate on the Stingrays, swimmers must be a current member of the following clubs: Southern Village, Governors Club, Governors Village, Governors Park, The Preserve, or The Legacy.
